Viagra Curbs Urinary Problems
An enlarged prostate is common in men who also experience erectile dysfunction (ED).
Recent finding: In a study of 370 men age 45 or older, those who took the ED drug sildenafil (Viagra) for 12 weeks reported improvement in symptoms associated with an enlarged prostate, such as decreased urinary flow.
Theory: The enzyme that Viagra acts on in the penis also relaxes cells in the bladder and prostate that promote urinary flow and emptying of the bladder.
