Two Great Hiccup Stoppers
Pour a tall glass of water. While holding your breath and pinching your nostrils, take small sips until you feel like you are drowning. Stop, inhale deeply and breathe normally.
Alternative: Ice the nerve fibers responsible for hiccups.
Find your Adam's apple-for women, this is approximately two inches below the chin. Move your finger around your neck to just above the middle of your clavicle, the protruding bone at the base of the neck. Apply ice cubes to each side of the neck at those points until the hiccupping stops.
See your doctor if your hiccups last more than 48 hours.
