Diabetes Drug May Boost Fertility
The drug metformin (Glucophage), which is used to make the tissues of diabetics more insulin-sensitive, can help treat the type of infertility that is caused by a failure to ovulate.
In some women who are not diabetic, excess insulin levels interfere with ovulation. For these women, metformin may restore normal ovulation. It is considered safe for use by women trying to get pregnant. See your doctor for more information.
