Delicious Way to Lower Blood Glucose
If you have type 2 diabetes, you may want to include cinnamon in your diet.
According to the Johns Hopkins University newsletter Heath After 50, a recent study found that when people who had diabetes consumed between 1 and 3 grams (g) of cinnamon (approximately one-half teaspoon) daily, their blood glucose, triglyceride, low-density lipoprotein (LDL) and total cholesterol levels dropped significantly.
Cinnamon extracts appear to enhance the efficiency of insulin and help fat cells recognize and respond to the hormone.
